Delete Your Account & Data
This page explains how to delete your Skilfo account and the data associated with it. Skilfo is operated by Orbisight Labs LLP (LLPIN ACY-2411). It applies to both the Skilfo mobile app and skilfo.com.

Only want to remove some of your data, like a single portfolio item or your AI chat? You can do that yourself without deleting your account: delete some of your data.
How to request deletion
In the app or on the web
- Sign in to Skilfo
- Open Profile on the web, or Settings in the app
- Choose Privacy & data
- Under Privacy & data, tap Delete account
- Type DELETE to confirm
Your account is locked as soon as you confirm and everything is deleted 3 days later. Changed your mind? Sign in within those 3 days and choose Keep my account. No support ticket needed.
By email
If you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us from the address registered on your account:
hello@skilfo.comUse the subject line “Account deletion request”. We verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes the following. This cannot be undone.
- •Your profile: name, email, phone number, date of birth, photo
- •Your login credentials and all active sessions
- •Your children’s profiles and their linked relationships
- •Portfolio items, certificates and badges you own
- •Progress reports, test results and assessment records
- •Photos, videos and voice notes you uploaded
- •Batch places, and bookings for classes still to come
- •Messages, notifications and communication history
- •Saved preferences, bookmarks and device push tokens
If you are a parent
A child’s record is a separate record from yours. When you delete your account, any child linked only to you is locked immediately (nobody can sign in, academies cannot add anything, shared pages stop working) and is deleted with your data 3 days later. If a child is also linked to another parent or guardian, that child’s record is left intact so the other parent does not lose it; only your link to them is removed. Academies keep their attendance and fee records for the child, with the name replaced by “Deleted student”. To delete a child’s record specifically, ask us at hello@skilfo.com.
What is retained, and for how long
A small amount of data is kept after deletion because Indian law requires it. None of it is used to contact you or to build a profile of you.
Security and access audit logs
180 days
Required for security incident investigation and breach reporting under the CERT-In Directions 2022. Your identity is unlinked from these records at deletion — what remains is the event, not the person.
Financial and transaction records
8 financial years
Fee payments, invoices and receipts must be retained under the Income-tax Act 1961 and the GST Act. These are the academy's books of account, not your profile.
Grievance and safety records
180 days after closure
Required under the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules 2021. Records relating to a child-safety report may be retained longer where the law requires it.
How long it takes
In-app request
Locked now, deleted in 3 days
You are signed out on every device and the account is locked as soon as you confirm. Everything is deleted 3 days later, unless you sign in and keep it.
Email request
Within 7 days
We verify the request comes from the account holder, then delete. We confirm by email when it is done.
Backups
Within 30 days
Encrypted backups roll off on a 30-day cycle. Deleted data is never restored from them.
Before you delete
Deletion is permanent. If you only want to stop hearing from us, or you want a copy of your child’s record first, you have gentler options:
- •Export your data — Profile (or Settings in the app) → Privacy & data → Download my data. You receive your child’s full portfolio, certificates and progress history.
- •Turn off notifications — your phone or browser settings for Skilfo. Keeps your record, stops the messages.
- •Leave one academy — you can remove a single academy’s access without deleting your account.
